Normandy Barriere is the favourite in the
4 15 at Pontefract today having had two
wins and two seconds last year. Considered
to be open to further improvement. As Tom
Eaves is helped into the saddle by trainer,
Nigel Tinkler, on the parade ground, punters
will be disappointed but not surprised
at the 3/1 odds forcing them into a bet on
the nose. There were winnings of £780 for
the owner for a third place but the punters
would be left whistling dixie! But - as the
bookies console - "you can't win 'em all"
