Senior Celebrations
I got to photograph a pretty cool event today: "Senior Celebrations" at the Washington National Cathedral. It recognizes the contributions of older adults (60 or older) to their congregations and communities through their volunteer work. About 44 people were recognized individually in a liturgy led by Bishop Mariann. Gotta give it to those Episcopalians for having women leaders :) It was a very sweet event, full of good will and quite a few shy and self-conscious honorees. [Def better in large!]
Then from there, on to the business of supervising the movers and their Tetris-like game of packing those moving pods I depicted yesterday. Only one casualty thus far: a dish that somehow and unbeknownst to anyone had found its way on top of my armoire. No human was hurt ;)
