Sand

This morning we were soon out of Beatty and into California and Death Valley. We were only really driving through in order to get to our next destination, so we did not see all that this amazing Californian desert has to show. But we did see and walk among the sand dunes, which was quite an experience. And fortunately we were there at the right time of year – not many people and temperatures not too high. Surprisingly in these arid conditions, there were a lot of flowers around and I did like the flowering cacti – see extra.
   
We are now at Kernville by Lake Isabella, in a really nice lodge. We move on again tomorrow and then we take a break and have a few days in one place, which will be good.
