Back to normal

I had to take a sick day today, which is rare for me, but I couldn't take any chances so needs must.

In my line of work, any cases of d&v (either or both) require us to stay off work until we're 'solid' again. I was better today than yesterday, but didn't want to risk passing anything to staff or patients or having to do a mad dash to the loo during treatment!

So instead, I stayed home and got things straight.
Mr A had done the first coat of paint on the bathroom wall yesterday; I finished it off today and then gave the whole house a good clean. Plaster dust gets everywhere!
I had to rest I between tasks, as minimal food and maximum purging for want of a better word left me feeling exhausted.

It feels so good to have everything back tidy again before we go away at the weekend.

We were due to stay with my Dad and Step-mum in the cottage they've rented in Scotland, but ill health has meant that they can't go now, so they have signed the holiday over to us, rather than it go to waste.
We can only go for the weekend (rather than the full week they've paid for), but they've insisted we go and refused point blank to accept any money, which I'm not happy about, so maybe we will take them out for a nice meal somewhere to say thank you.

It's a shame they don't feel up to it, as we would have had a good laugh and it would have been nice to spend some time with them both as I feel they are the family we spend the least time with.

Initially, Dad was cautious about going as he suspects he has developed another dvt (he had treatment for one last year). We talked him into going, only for my Step-Mum to develop suspected cellulitis from a bramble graze on her leg! She had a similar incident a few years ago and ended up in hospital, so I can understand them not wanting to be too far from home.

I'm back to work tomorrow; I have to be as I have a VIP patient booked in (Mr A!), but also I am feeling much better.

Today's blip is of the finished bathroom, with the new cupboard that started all of the chaos. It was worth it. Honest :-/
