Sunset and "The Green Flash"
After all the fog on Friday, it cleared up nicely on Saturday ... In fact the sunset was near perfect ... :o)
---
Having captured several images of the sun setting, however, I decided to simply watch it finally disappear with my naked eye and not to worry too much about capturing it as it eventually winked out ... Had I continued to shoot until the bitter end, I might have done a better job of photographing "The Green Flash" ... :o|
---
The Green Flash is quite a rare effect caused by light refraction and tends to happen mostly in the dying moments of a clear sunset, or (less common) at sunrise ... The last glimmer of sun appears to turn green ...
---
I did manage to quickly lift my camera and point it in the right direction, but unfortunately the image was a bit out of focus and the inset image, which I added onto this blip, has been heavily cropped and enlarged ... So it's not exactly a brilliant portrayal, but it does at least prove that I wasn't imagining things ... :o)
