Highway to hell

This is the part of the long, busy main road in Malvern.  Today the council started digging out the old tram tracks to replace them with new ones.  This will take about two weeks (so they say).  

It is noisy, it is dusty.  It was very awkward to get to some shops as parts of the footpath on both sides were blocked off at various points and you kept having to cross the road to continue your journey up the street.  On the upside, there was no traffic to dodge, apart from the sluggish dump trucks carting away the rubble that is. 

Should be an interesting two weeks.
