Purple

If asked what colour a pine cone might be, I don't imagine most people would answer 'purple' - but these beauties definitely are. I've been looking out for their appearance over the last few weeks, and today, as we headed down the hill in Benmore towards the old formal garden, I spotted this little beauty at the end of its branch. I'll have to remember to come back for another blip in a month or so.

Just because it was another beautiful afternoon in a beautiful place, my extra photo is of the mossy woodland at the top of the hill in the Chilean Garden, with the afternoon sun slanting between the trees.
