a bird...

...simple and true

attached itself to the side of the house today... reminding me of those in high wire acts - who gracefully balance themselves on bars - swinging above the ground... her little legs wrapped around the wrought iron - i'm not sure why she was suspended there - she didn't stay for long either... and she's certainly not the most beautiful, albeit i think she does have some striking marks... i believe she's a house finch... (some people find them pesky and irritating around here...) all the same to me though when it comes to birds and nature in general... i believe they're all god's creation - find them gorgeous in their own individuality (errrr... well... except perhaps for spiders) - i'm interested in their behavior - why they do the things they do... not that i get answers from them when i ask but i mumble all the while - just because...

so it was with this little one - as she gently glanced in my direction as i took my parting shot - then released her legs and flew away before i even had time to wish a farewell... i think she knew - it had made for...
