Early Purple Orchid

The past couple of days have been cool which seems to have slowed the flowering of the early purple orchids in the ancient pasture woodland part of the reserve where they grow under beech and hornbeam trees. It can be difficult to spot the flowers and I find it easier to look for the rosette of dark green spotted leaves first.
