Practice for Pirates

The display last night was reassuring for passengers as we sail into an area that has a recent history of piracy. We now know that the “big guns” are close by and ready to come to the rescue!!

This morning we had an exercise that was a first for us. “What to do if the ship is attacked and boarding is attempted by pirates”. It took all of 15 minutes and isn’t rocket science for passengers, more of what the crew have to do in such an event. I sat in the corridor and continued with my sewing!! I wouldn’t be sewing if the event was for real!!

A new passenger Captain’s Cocktail Party, followed by another formal dinner this evening. I do feel sorry for the men being trussed up in all the gear in this hot climate. They are not allowed to remove their jackets in the public areas of the ship after 6pm, so the excellent show presented by the Patriot Girls was viewed by many men looking like lobsters and on verge of a coronary!!

I've managed to upload a photo for today, at last, so will try again for the blip for the 18th, which explains where we are and what we are doing!!

PS I'm the photographer!!
