ANZAC DAY

Anzac Day on 25 April is a very important day for Australians and New Zealanders. It is sacred to the memory of those who died in any war but particularly to those to gave their lives at Gallipoli in World War 1. This year marks the centenary of the holding of Anzac Day.
In our parish in that dreadful war 15 young parishioners never came back. This was then a very small parish.
A vote of the parishioners led to many of the wives and mothers donating their jewellery so that a chalice might be made from it and inscribed with their names as a  legacy.
This morning the chalice was used.  Afterwards,  the light was dim and I pushed the ISO as high as I dared but couldn't get more than 1/15 handheld, so sharpness, especially on the extra, is not great.
