Dungeness

We went down Dungeness after chores. Cold winds and grey skies, showers passing through. Lots to see, big hatches of a may/sedge fly?, swallows, martins, tufted duck, mallard, raven, marsh harrier, egrets, lots of great crested grebe, a hint of water rail, terns, black throated grebe (which we didn't see), ubiquitous coots and rabbits, a bearded tit flitting through the reedbeds, a reed bunting and the delightful, dazzling song of the largely hidden sedge warblers with their trills and whistles.

This is (I think) a Sedge Warbler. Extras are the fly hatches caught in a web and a clever Coot snapping up the fly bonanza as it emerged from the water onto the reed stalks.
