Squash
The time between the spring frosts and the autumn frosts is too short in my garden for squash. They invariably get knocked back before anything is produced. Late last spring, with the prediction of an El Nino weather pattern, (hot and dry here) I decided to try four plants. I grew them under a frame, which I covered with frost cloth about a month ago. Here is the result, a 75% success. I’m not convinced the money, time and effort I put into them was worthwhile.
