Sparkling Rhododendron

After nearly a week of perfect weather, last evening thunderstorms entertained us with lightning.  
Lightning and thunder storms are a rare event here in the Willamette Valley.  
Early this morning I found the rain knocked most of the older shrub blossom petals off, allowing the newer blossoms to shine maximally. 
A metaphor for life I suppose.
