A view from the water
We joined up with G & T (our travelling companions) and headed out on the Metro to Old Dubai which is at the other end of city. It is raised, running parallel to the main highway, so gives interesting views of city development.
We came back on the ferry to the Marina, so saw the view from the water side. For a third mode of transport, B & I took the hop on, hop off bus to see round the Palm development. It is most recognisable in pictures from the air, so was interesting to put things into perspective on the ground.
Transport systems here are understandable new (everything is new), comprehensive, with metro, trams, water ferries and water taxis, as well as cars galore!! Fuel is 30 cents a litre!! Construction of roads, high rise buildings is all around.
