Grinning.....

....from ear to ear!!

I have just found out how unfit I am...I went to Mary's and we climbed Rivington Pike to see the beacon being lighted in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday. We joined hundreds of people up there. There was a gorgeous sunset as we sat at the top and waited for the beacon to be lit, it was great to see the wonderful view, but my oh my it was blowing a hooley! 

It was so windy that the men from the council struggled to light their blow torch. If there had been an Armada sailing into sight and we were relying on them to light the warning beacon we would all be speaking Spanish now! We had a laugh about it and a little group of people sang Happy Birthday to the Queen and then as the men eventually got it going we gave them a cheer. 

No-one said any words, which was disappointing, but it was great to be there and be buffeted  by the wind and feel part of it all. My legs are aching now but I feel exhilarated....I must get fitter though.

oh.....you are probably wondering why I'm grinning from ear to ear.....well I only went and bought a camera today :)))))))))
