Happy 90th Birthday to our Queen

Today after work, and after eating the dinner that was waiting for me when I got in, I joined Henry, Jon and the rest of the scouts, beavers, cubs and quite a lot more Cromer people, at Cromer church. There, many torches were lit and a procession ensued up the headland to Happy Valley. There we all congregated by a small bandstand. The town crier, followed by the mayor made speeches to commemorate the Queen's 90th birthday. We sang the National Anthem, followed by Happy Birthday, and then the beacon was lit. Along with many thousands around the country I believe. It was nice to be part of something special to celebrate such a momentous occasion.

It was still quite light, but the celebration was completed with a short burst of fireworks. We laughed about how light it was - I had never seen fireworks in the daylight before, but they really did work - and I was really quite pleased with my photos, 2 of which are in my extra photos. However, I felt the lit beacon, as the purpose of the evening, should be my main blip photo.

Home by 8.30, on the way into the village we had a deer, rat and hare all run across in front of us (not all at the same time!) I wasn't quick enough with my camera!

The rest of my day was uneventful. We are now watching a programme about the queen and all the lovely old cine films! I don't think I am a 'royalist' but I do quite like the queen!
