A slice of Lesley's life

Room with a view

Well sort of. And thinking about all the pictures I could post here today I decided to share with you my view for the night. It's a bit sort of camping in disguise meets Business Class as the chair provided for parents is almost a complete recline with footrest. We seem to have got lucky and are in a ward by ourselves. Still a little difficult to imagine a good night's sleep as every two hours they will come and take blood from J's hand but I do think it could be considerably worse.

The day has actually been much harder for J in many ways. We arrived at 10.30am and were in the day room awaiting a bed until about 4pm. This ward is mainly a day patient ward (hence the quietness now) and it has been pretty full on all day. He's been quite up and down but we've had the distraction of my brother who works in the hospital popping by with chocolate biscuits. But all for the good and hopefully within the week we will have our answer.

My day started what feels like another world ago with a webinar kicking off a new project very first thing. Of course with the combination of coming here and having to wake up early for the webinar my body decided to wake on the hour every hour just to look at my phone and check I hadn't missed anything. For all the ways in which the human body is very smart it makes me think we are talking our parts up sometimes evolution wise.

Right, J is snoozing so I shall don my eye-mask and see if I can grab some shuteye too.
