90 years young...this is the beacon on the Welcombe hills at Stratford Upon Avon that was due to be lit at 8pm tonight.

You can see the size as the digger was there to help build it.

On a sad note the loss of Victoria Wood yesterday, I'd admired her comedy since I was in my early 20s going to see her in Birmingham live and laughing from start to finish.

But even sadder news this evening with the loss of my idol.

The death of the pop star Prince was announced earlier this evening, I had seen him in concert 4 times he was amazing live in concert, featuring a full size Cadillac driving down from the roof of the arena.

I wore clothes like his and tried to dance like him unfortunately I could never do the splits !!

The catalogue of songs could go on for ages, the songs he wrote for others,, an amazing talent dying to early.

RIP Prince.
