Louie Think

He does this, he takes a moment out of his day and just stands and thinks.

He was so affectionate today - I always wait for him to have his fill of worms, whether he takes them away and comes back for more or eats his own, or both - as he then signals to me when he's done by singing high above on his crab apple tree.  But today as I shooed off the ever present greedy blackbird (they had enough themselves!), Louie I knew, hadn't finished, in fact he was chasing another neighbouring robin out of his patch for ages, as I stood and waited and watched him.  Finally after many hedgerow laps, the other robin went back to his own patch and Louie flew back to his table to finish the worms off - his worms, which I had protected so well from cheeky blackbirds - although I did allow the wren to have some!  When he had swallowed all, instead of flying up and away, he flew towards me and over my shoulder, lightly brushing his wing feathers over the top of me - I like to see that as an affectionate thank you for waiting for him to finish - as then he went high up onto his crab apple tree to sing :)  It's those little moments that I'll treasure forever  xxx
