Caen Hill Marina (Thursday 21st April 2016)

I haven't been back to Caen Hill Marina since shortly after it opened a few years ago because there are security guards to keep the public out. The wharf at Foxhangers became similarly visitor-unfriendly at around the same time. Driving past on the main road and peeping over the hedgerow I could see that it was doing a roaring trade.

This afternoon I parked at Martinslade and walked along the towpath to Lower Foxhangers Farm, taking me past Caen Hill Marina on the other side of the canal. The lift bridge is considerably more weather worn than it was when I last saw it.
