Looking up at Betty's

Today I got to experience the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, otherwise known as the "New Southern" or "Bettys". I can't fault the staff and the volunteers - especially Thomas who guided us all the way to waiting area G. Thank heavens he knew the secret of the lifts!!
I know I'm awkward..... but I would have expected hospital architects to understand the need for clear access especially for people who have to use wheelchairs. Then again, I wouldn't have expected a requirement for attending hospital would be the ability to walk miles but that is another gripe.
Fortunately I shall be better prepared for the repeat experience the beginning of June...... and in the meantime I pray that my surgeon will allow Oban Hospital to do the required pre-op CT scan, it being a mere 38 miles away as opposed to 84.
