Sorry

Given the circumstances of her bedtime last night (she fell asleep minutes after Granny & Grandad had arrived and also before tea was ready), she woke up amazingly. She didn't fuss at all that it was morning and she'd missed them. She was delighted they'd left a goodbye note for her and happy that I had saved her the tea to eat tonight. When she's done this in the past, I have had to accept giving her pudding for breakfast!

She's worked incredibly hard to day as she's desperate to fix the awful lesson yesterday, including this picture she's done for her teacher. She played brilliantly at her first clarinet practise this morning, and had taken in the new things B had taught her even in her strop. She'd started this picture last night and continued with it today for B. We cycled to school in glorious sunshine.

She came out with a grin on her face. She'd tried the new Y1/2 jigsaw club and seemed to enjoy it. She said that during independent learning (Free play to us old timers!) her and Freya had "done something really nice for Mrs H and Mrs HT; we made them a letter saying that "we loved learning about Jack & the Beankstalk", only we wrote Rose because when we did our play of it we decided to call it Rose. And I got to make it all from blocks with F, L, and O".

When she got home from school, she ate her tea and had another clarinet practise. I think she's very nearly ready for her first orchestra practise on Friday. She's certainly excited about it. We did the swimming lesson run - I'm fairly sure she failed her assessment this time but it may still be the last time we do it. I'm very over the swimming lesson dash.... She cartwheeled in the early evening sun, with Minster behind her. It was rather gorgeous.

We arrived back and the kid went straight to the piano. She dropped a couple of marks on her scales during last night's practise exam and worked hard to crack them. She did the rest of the exam work and then spent ages on "musical knowledge". B and I decided last night she'd switch for the exam from the aural test element to that element as she's a bit freakishly good at that part! And finally, before I managed to get her to bed, she then sat at the table and covered B's (huge, A3) picture in glitter and sparkles.
