A moment in time

Seydisfjordour, Iceland

Docked here at 8am and only here for a morning, so just had a very pleasant walk around the town before going back to the ship for lunch. The town of Seydisfjorour had a boom in the turn of the last century when Norwegians began fishing and processing herring here on a major scale. the oldest part of the town is 19th century Norse style architecture. The town was an American and British military base in the second World War. As it is the closest Icelandic port to the Faeroe Islands and Europe, there is a car ferry, here, which has attracted tourism to the area.

Back on the ship we had dance class and afternoon quizz before dinner.

Sunset 12.09am and rose the next day at 3.11am.
