View from Peel Hill
Hi, Physivic reporting again. We apparently set off for a quieter day, I was travelling with Huddsbird today. We caught the bus to Peel, which travelled part way along the TT course. We had front row seats on the top deck so we had a great view. It must be fun to ride a motorbike on that route! We had a wander around the harbour, where I met the RNLI, then went to the castle. More steps to climb, but not as many as yesterday. The location is beautiful. We had fun playing at the top, I was peeping round the ramparts.
We then had a lovely time on the beach collecting shells, which you can see in the extras. It was such a hot, sunny day and the views were good so we climbed to the top of Peel Hill. It was a bit steep and I needed the help of a rope as you can see, my first climbing experience. I nearly fell over the edge! From the top you can see the harbour and the castle, which is on St Patrick's island.
When we got to the bottom J and H said they "had" to have a pint in the pub. I tried some too, hic. We then walked up to the main street and stopped for a kipper sandwich. I don't think J will be having another. We caught the bus to Ramsey but there wasn't much there, except "the best ice cream on the island", which we had to try. Then it was the bus back to the hotel ready for a more relaxing evening ... maybe.
