National Trust scarecrow

I think they have a sense of humour at Calke Abbey.

This scarecrow would certainly not look out of place wandering around the estate, taking tea in the tea room, or enjoying a picnic on one of the strategically placed benches.

I had expected to find lots of butterflies. Calke Abbey is usually full of such rich varieties - but there was NOT ONE !

Their rare breed lambs were adorable (extra photo)
