Cairo Streets
It's a much easier trip from London to Cairo than it is from Barcelona. Getting out to Heathrow is always a pain but a five hour direct flight is pretty good. It was the first time in ages that I had lined up for take-off at Heathrow in a BA plane. It took me back to the many evenings when Concorde was the plane ahead in the queue and I'd hear the roar of her Olympus engines, see the orange flames spew from her exhausts and feel the entire fuselage of our plane shudder as a tsunami of thrust enveloped us. Today, the plane ahead was a JAL. Synchronistically, the last time I took off from Heathrow for Cairo thirty-five years ago, I was aboard one of those!
