Open dialogue

I was up at 4 to catch a flight to Edinburgh for OER16. This photo shows Nicole Allen & Jim Groom in discussion. It is symbolic because they can be seen as representing different approaches to openness. Nicole works in Washington, lobbying government to employ open licensing, and this has been successful in recent years. Jim coined the edupunk term and views openness as experimenting. I think we need both approaches within the discipline so that's why I like this photo, it represents the conference as a whole.
