This water wheel is/was powered by the waters of the Oak Creek in the late 1800's for electric power for the ranch that was started here.    Web search =  "The ranch, known by various names throughout its history, has existed at this site since 1880. The water wheel was installed in 1937 to supply electricity for the two ranch houses on site. Water was conveyed to the water wheel by the existing Dumas Ditch, used to deliver water from Oak Creek to the orchards and fields planted along the flat bottom area adjacent to Oak Creek."   Noticed I made 730 with this post....  :o)
