Mixed day

My day started early with the school run. It was a little extended as grandson has been allocated a place at his sisters’ school and whilst they needed to be there before 8.30 he couldn't go until after 9. After dropping his sisters of he said he’d like to see his Nan and he hadn't had breakfast. So a quick scrambled egg on toast and then back to school for just after 9. I opened up friend’s green house as he is away.
This afternoon was the funeral of the husband of one of the members of PixelPals a small group of photographers who meet for a day each month to take photos and have lunch. Whilst sad the tone of the funeral was more about celebrating his life and allowing us all time to reflect on our remembrances of him. I suppose it helped that the weather was glorious. We all gathered afterwards for a lovely buffet and an opportunity to continue our conversations.

Home in time to take the grandchildren home and close up the greenhouse of my friend as the forecast is for a possible frost tonight. Today’s blip is a cowslip that I thought looked quite delicate and vulnerable that seemed to link to the funeral and thoughts around our own vulnerability.
