New birds on the block

Still tired today, even after a lazy weekend, but definitely more relaxed. Had a nice long chat with our older daughter, who’s 34 today. She sounded very happy, and sent photos of a series of flamingo-themed presents she’s received from her husband and friends (they live in Flamingo Close) – mugs, socks, cocktail sticks, pencils, you name it. She’s also preparing to do the Moon Walk, so our present is new shoes (we gave her the first pair, three years ago, but apparently they’re falling apart now). She only has a couple of weeks to train, so it could be hard going.
 
The bird population in our vila is increasing, to my delight (could hav something to do with the demise of one of our neighbour's cats), so I put some truly hideous hummingbird feeders up – couldn’t find any decent ones here. I was thrilled to see the bananaquit visit them time and again. The hummer came close, but couldn’t pluck up enough courage, at least, not while I was watching. Just managed to catch him on the phone wires, but from quite a distance.
