Covenanters' Monument, Redford Road
After an extremely busy day, I realise I haven't got my blip for the day. I head up to Bonaly, and then along Redford Rd. Outside Dreghorn Barracks is the Covenanters' Monument, erected in 1885. It commemorates the rebellious Covenanters who were defeated at the Battle of Rullion Green in 1666. It was built from four engaged Ionic columns from Wiliam Adam's Royal Infirmary which was demolished in 1884.
