Brown Hares
I went up to the Birsay Moors hide and saw a male and a female hen harrier, a bonxie, about 50 greylags but no red-throated divers. They had been there earlier but maybe were away for lunch. After a walk along the shore I was heading up to Evie village when I saw these hares a bit far off, one in relentless pursuit of the other. A much more relaxed hare was in the next field. It must have been sitting for a while because I saw it shake itself, then stretch, first by pushing its front legs out and then arching its back and standing on its toes. It was like hare yoga and I could practically feel my own bones click into place.
