Space

A branch reaches out over the stream towards the light and spacious sky. It looks like it has taken many years of growth for it to get this far.

A glorious sunny day. I sit in the garden after work and see two delicate blue blackbird eggs on my path - the chicks inside have hatched out and I later see their mother with a beak full of worms. The robins also have young, as do the starlings who are nesting in my neighbours roof. I wonder if the bluetits who have been meticulously removing the moss lining of my hanging plant are also parents yet.

The sun is now going down and I can feel the cool evening air rolling into the house. Outside the church bells ring and the birds sing their good nights. The soothing sounds and rhythms of Spring and of life.
