Over Yonder

Look Up

My Dear Fellow,

When I was much younger, by which I mean about 7 or 8, there was a schoolyard rhyme which my fellows and I enjoyed a great deal.

Look up,
Look down,
Your knickers are falling down

Typing it in now, I can see it isn't exactly great verse, nor great wit. Nevertheless, we took a great deal of enjoyment from it.

I think of that only because today's picture is taken from exactly the same spot as the picture from the 14th April.

If you look up from that spot, you see this pattern of branches, criss-crossing the sky.  And if you are anything like me you have profound thoughts like, "How insignificant my place on the planet is", "That sky looked down upon my ancestors" and "I'm so glad there's not a fat pigeon in that tree because I'm not wearing a hat."

And so forth.
