The Lighted Life

The Money Pit

I left my computer charger at home and had to make a trip to the money pit. Apple stores are exciting to view from the exterior but inside they can be living hell. There is no Apple store that is more infamous for a crush of customers and too little service than the store in Manhattan on 59th and Fifth. If you travel there at 2pm, there will be a line longer than those to get into Yankee stadium. And then you will wait in an even longer line to pay too much for too little.

But at 11pm, I breezed in and out and caught exactly one blip before the security guard ushered me away. I showed him my receipt and told him I have always smiled as I overpaid for the little white boxes they sell but I soon realized that he was all business and had lost his sense of humor the day he got his badge. I bet he has an Android phone, the fun sucker that he was.

The store has a round all glass elevator which you can see the details of much better in large. I love this store justfor the design that was involved. It is a visual wonder. The store that is, surely not this image (the image needs CPR). Coast to coast travel and meetings in NYC soaked up all but a few minutes of my day.

I would love to tap these keys some more but a fluffy pillow is calling my name. Friday is upon us, rejoice and be well.
