Green house
Friends who live in Brasília called today to pick HH’s brains about Parkinsons – sadly, it seems that the husband, who has always lead a very active and adventurous life (well, they both have) may have Parkinsons – and that may be the best of the possible diagnoses. Parkinsons can take many different forms and the treatments and medication that work for one patient may not work for others. HH, who discovered he had the disease nearly 20 years ago, has been lucky – first to have been operated on by one of Brazil’s greatest surgeons, Paulo Niemeyer, who then steered him to a doctor who found the right combination of drugs to cope with the symptoms. We just hope our friend will be as lucky.
Had to do a couple of routine medical tests in the afternoon, and took the big camera, as I like to record the old houses that have so far escaped demolition. This one is green in both senses of the word, it houses an outfit called Ecomania. The only trouble is, it won't stand up.
