flat footed bear

So the bear is apparently still in the neighborhood. Sadly, my trusty pitbull, who first alerted us to the bear's presence on our back porch a few days ago, was not interested in the least in picking up a scent from these prints. She preferred to roll in the grass alongside. I guess she is more of a territorial animal than a tracker. But what would I have done if she did lead me to the bear? Maybe I underestimated her protectiveness afterall!
