Lesser Redpoll

I had my usual slow Sunday morning start.  While I was gazing out of the window this male Lesser Redpoll arrived at the feeders.  It has been an unusual years with regard to Redpolls, we usually have them all the year round but this year not one during winter.  What I am assuming has happened (in the absence any other evidence) is that the local population moved away from for the winter and for some reason out winter population chose not to arrive.

The rest of the day was exciting things like taking the recycling and other domestic jobs which were requiring attention.  One being stating to pack ready for our trip away on Solace at the weekend.
