A View from the Riverside Bench
After yesterdays beautiful experience in the Hersteller uplands, we would not try to surmount that. Such would be utterly meaningless. Any moment of delight is unique and incomparable. It will make one unhappy and dissatisfied if you try to equal this next time. Enlightened joy is not to be considered as a result, a goal to be reached. It is a gift to be recieved in gratitude.
Consequently we would just go out for a minimini sunday afternoon round. Some streets up and down nearby. She proposed to look down town, I hesitated. I do not like sightseeing in town on a sunday afternoon. Too crowded. I would prefer a windy riverside to the west. The fresh greens and warming sun - this newborn april blooming - everywhere in the gardens draw us in western direction. And it was delicious.
We walk here so often, but never a dull moment. All those upcoming greens and other new colours in the bright sunshine. It was windy, but you could smell April. Yes, indeed Aprill smells in a very special way. I’m not going to put that in words...There is seduction in that, desire...There are big changing cloudformations in the sky. Some very dark. It starts to rain while the sun keeps shining. And you can still smell the freshness of the past rainfall.
We just walk to Würgassen on the opposite bank of Herstelle. We stay sitting on a riverside bench to look around or glance over the fast floating waters. Just enjoy this view. Looking to the opposite riverside. The steep green slope of the Strauchberg which we ascended yesterday. Vanishing in the hinterland. Now enjoying our rest here. Untill it becomes a bit chilly and that taste for hot tea comes up.
