Berwick and two castles
After a frustrating morning, mostly spent trying to change to a cheaper energy tariff (grrrr - what a waste of time...), MrM and I drove up to Allanton for an extra Morris practice. The team has been choreographing a new dance, and this afternoon we actually finished it. Not the best (or longest) dance I've ever been involved with, but at least the tune is nice!
The weather had improved while we were in Allanton and it was quite clear, so we stopped in a lay-by on the way to Berwick for this shot. Looking over the A1 - miraculously, no cars as I took the photo - is Berwick, with the town hall clock to the left. On the right, just beyond the Tweed estuary, is the chimney at Spittal. In the distance is Lindisfarne, the castle to the left of centre, and Bamburgh, the castle to the right.
