Ida the Terrible Turns Five!

Down at Burntie today for the 5th birthday party of my lovely wee granddaughter.  She had decided it would be a fancy dress affair and she  wanted "a real disco", so the Lollipop Lady (her day job!) presided over the decks in the church hall, and 30-odd children cavorted about in various guises.

Ida had decided she was going to be Wonder Woman, her inspiration being a pair of comic pants I had given her Mum one time! 

Arlo was Captain America, and the crime-fighting super-hero duo took the party by storm!  I loved the way she cut a swathe through all the Elsas and Disney Princesses, her red and blue standing out in sharp relief to the pale pink and blue. 

I also loved the way her brother suddenly shouted in alarm as we left the house to go to the party, "Oh no!  Ida's forgotten her whip"!  (Not part of the actual costume I have to say, just a home made affair created from Arlo's dressing gown belt!

Happy happy birthday to her tomorrow, her birthday proper.  Apparently she is already determined to wear her costume to nursery!
