A lucky winner

Last week, whilst staying at a friends house, Miss C was persuaded to enter a competition to win 2 free seats at a netball match with our state netball team. She protested that she was wasting her time, as she had a track record of never winning anything. So, you can imagine the excitement when we got a call telling us that she had won. Hooray! In addition to the two free seats,she had to arrive at 4.30 to present the match ball to the captain.
I picked her up from a kayaking course, which naturally took longer than planned, so we arrived at 4.45 at the arena. It was a bit embarrassing after sprinting from car to the meeting point to hear that the netball team rep had given the "honour" away to a child who was close by.
Miss C conducted herself extremely well, and we simply went to find our seats. I was disappointed for her, but she took it in her stride.
The match was exciting and the height of those Goal Scorers was gobsmacking!
