Amed from a hilltop
We spent the morning doing two dives. The first was our first wreck dive which was spectacular. The USAT Liberty was an American cargo ship which was torpedoed in World War 2 and had been dumped on the beach near Amed when they decided it couldn't be repaired. It sat on the beach until 1963 when the volcano erupted and it slid into the sea where it has been ever since.
The coral was spectacular and it felt very surreal floating in and out of what is left of the structure. It is the closest I have ever been to flying!
In the afternoon we hired a scooter and went up onto a hill to take in the view.
