midwife crisis

Consultation

The local horse vet assessing Billy. Little Billy is only about 12 months old and my friend Susan has taken him in ( hopefully temporarily) after he was dumped deep in the woods - he was wandering for a month before being rescued . He has an eye missing which is prob why he was dumped. We all thought it was an injury, but the vet thinks he was prob born like it. Anyway - it's going th take an ultrasound scan and referral to an equine ophthalmologist and lots of money to get it looking respectable through quite risky surgery. Can't he just have a glass eye?
Billy has an incredibly kind and gentle way about him - I've never seen such an affectionate, calm and sociable young colt - he's pretty special. Can't imagine surgery is really an affordable and agreeable option.
Had first practice of team dressage this afternoon. Keep practicing ladies - this is harder than it looks ( but good fun).
