Identifying Moss. Any Called Stirling?

Contrary to popular belief, if there is a popular belief about such a niche subject; there are many varieties of moss. Yesterday while I was taking photos of toy soldiers, Lego-Dad was collecting samples. Here he is enjoying retirement, examining  and identifying each specimen.
