The Junior Doctors

You may not know because the media haven barely covered the fact that there was a huge rally in London and also one in Leeds

Leeds was all about saving the NHS .

It's main aim was to protect junior doctors against the imposition of new and unsafe contracts .

The day was also about
- Tuition fees and protesting against the marketing of education
- having a fair minimum wage for all workers in the country

Many others turned up to rally again austerity . The team from Doncaster domestic violence support services who have closed due to funding cuts ( leaving no DV services in South Yorkshire ) .
The Fire Brigade Union ( the govts crazy plan to raise retirement to an unsafe level )
The police were there allegedly to man it but many were joining in .

Figures of 5000 have been quoted and it certainly felt there was a huge crowd as we marched for an hour through Leeds in a noisy ( but none aggressive ) way. Shoppers watched and showed support , stopped traffic showed support

The public sector can not be squeezed any more and I am hopeful that little by little this government will be stopped in its wicked tracks .

Teachers , social workers , union workers, cleaners , they were all marching . There is so much solidarity born out of shared dissatisfaction with cuts .

Solidarity and strength is what's happening and one day good will triumph .
