The Wright garden

Today we were invited to come and view this wonderful Frank Lloyd Wright style house in Stirling with its incredible and historic botanic garden. I have long been a fan of Wright, and Paladian and I have had the pleasure of visiting some of his iconic houses in USA.

He introduced the word 'organic' into his philosophy of architecture and you could say the same regarding the garden that we spent some time wandering around and photographing this morning. The garden was developed 125 years ago by the former director of the Adelaide Botanic Garden, and this house was subsequently built in the garden around 35 years ago.

The autumn colours were truly amazing at this time of year, and perfectly framed the house. Inside, the view from each room framed a different vista of this magnificent garden. It has recently been rated as the best private garden in the Adelaide Hills area. This visit was a very special occasion.
