Contact Epic - Round Lake Hawea

A Strava screen-shot of my race today.  The longest mountain bike race in NZ.  There is an option (for mugs) to do a complete circumnavigation of the lake (120km) but the first 30km are on sealed roads - not much fun on a mountain bike.  I did the 92km off road section.  It was enough.  Unbelievable scenery, which I mostly ignored because I was head down, bum up, riding like mad.  Or just too stuffed to appreciate it.  OK, I appreciated it a bit.  

Official time of 5 hours 34 minutes, I was 4th in my category (Masters men) out of 61 finishers and 19th overall out of 184 finishers.  Pretty stoked.  This race has  been on my tick list for years and I'm thrilled to knock it off in style.  It was rather difficult.
