Confused Fishes

I normally feed them 'flakes' but this time I've bought them 'sticks ' , and they've spent ages just pushing and nudging them around the pond. Then the bigger fish decided they could swallow them whole, but the smaller ones had to make do with nibbling and sucking the ends of the sticks.
